About Dr. Nelson

Dr. Tiesha S. Nelson is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and the CEO and Founder of Nelson Psychological Services, LLC established in 2012. She received her undergraduate degree from the Florida State University and obtained her Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University. She specializes in Forensic Psychology and community mental health, however, is competent in a number of specialties including, but not limited to: addiction, sexual abuse (Offenders and Victims), geriatric mental health, community trauma, and the mental health impact stemming from disparities, and mental health issues stemming from living with HIV/AIDS, sexuality stressors, and the residual impact stemming from disparities (socioeconomic status, health, gender and racial biases).

Further Dr. Nelson is an advocate for increasing awareness around diversity and disparity issues in Black and Brown Communities. She recently founded P.R.O.S.P.E.R., Inc., a non-profit organization which serves to advocate for and provide community mental health services for underserved population who may not have access to quality competent services.
